APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FROM A SUITABLY QUALIFIED, INNOVATIVE TEACHER FROM JANUARY 2023
Successful applicants would join a team which has a vision for transforming teaching and learning history through understanding our past from a decolonised and Afrocentric position.
Informed by both the underpinning values and prescriptions of the SA Constitution, applicants should be willing to facilitate conversation on often sensitive topics, contribute to formulating and teaching a decolonised and Afrocentric perspective in engaging with the past, and inspire a passion for the learning of history.
The post would require the successful applicant being competent and passionate to teach the History curriculum for Grades 8 – 12, develop and apply assessments based on CAPS DBE policy, be willing to engage in various teaching methodologies, and be an advocate for lifelong learning.
Requirements would be a relevant tertiary degree (eg B.Ed), PGCE, and SACE registration.
Applicable law and policy towards redress will be applied. Please indicate your ability to teach other subjects.
The successful candidate must be fully committed to the sport and extra-mural programme of the school.
