Job Description

Star of the Sea Convent is a Public School on Private Property (Grades R to 7) serving 400 children. The school has a rich history of providing values based Catholic Dominican Education. It is a sound, well-run, caring school, catering to a very broad community.

The SGB invites applications from individuals who meet the following key requirements:

ADMINISTRATIVE CLERK (SCHOOL SECRETARY AND BURSAR)

  • Possess a Matric certificate and preferably have a finance/administration
    qualification
  • Have excellent organisational skills
  • Have a professional demeanour, integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality with regard to sensitive information
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Have good people skills whilst also able to act assertively when required
  • Have high levels of IT competence
  • Able to perform a wide range of general school administrative tasks
  • Be able to engage with Western Cape Education Department data-bases like CEMIS, PMPS, etc
  • Must be able to deal with children well

Previous experience in school financial administration will be advantageous.
